Newborn Baby Photos Watford

Newborn baby photos Watford.

If you are expecting a new baby it’s great to consider having a newborn shoot in the first two weeks after the baby is born.  Things are pretty hectic when the baby arrives so it’s good to have thought about this beforehand and got yourself booked in.  Obviously for a newborn baby shoot we don’t know exactly when the baby will come so I pencil in your due date and then once the baby arrives safely we book you in.  All my newborn shoots are done during the week whilst Dad is still home on paternity leave.   The first two weeks are best because the baby is tiny and sleepy and will curl into some of the poses you’ll find on my website.

The shoot is all about capturing the relationship between you as a new family – it’s relaxed and we work around the baby getting the best shots.  I love it when the parents are really keen to be in the photos as well.  I know that as a new Mum you are not feeling your best so I shoot from the best angles and photoshop can help brighten those tired eyes !   I can do a shoot with just the baby but having all of you in the photos is much more precious and something the baby will really love when she/he grows up.

Heres a selection from a recent newborn baby shoot in Watford.

I love to do newborn baby sessions – it’s wonderful capturing the new baby joining the family.  It’s especially fun when there is an older sibling getting used to their new brother or sister.

It’s important to me to make the session about the whole family and the emotions between them rather than just concentrating on the new baby.   There are lot of lovely moments that can be captured between the family,  especially when sessions are done in client’s homes.  Baby Photography home sessions are nice and relaxed and, I feel, are more personal than studio sessions.

This session was wonderful and featured not only the new baby but a fabulously fun toddler.  If you are expecting a baby and have an older child or children we can get some great pictures of all of you together so please get in touch.

Here is a very recent baby photography session in Olney Milton Keynes – hope you like the images – I love it when I get a baby smile like the first image.

Beautiful Bump Shoot Olney

Beautiful Bump Shoot – Olney

Most women don’t like seeing themselves in photos.  Most women don’t like what they see in the mirror.  Most women won’t book themselves a photoshoot because they think they won’t like the results.   This is a real shame so I recently started to do beauty shoots for women.  These are not boudoir shoots or makeovers, they are shoots where I photograph the beauty that I see in every single woman and I show that to them in lovely natural images.

The most common reaction I get when I send these photos out is “wow – is that me ?”   As women we really don’t see what others see when they look at us.

This beautiful lady’s husband bought her one of these beauty shoots for a gift (good man).  As she was pregnant, she decided to wait a few months for the shoot, so that we could capture her bump at the best possible time.  As this would be her last pregnancy, she was really keen to get some gorgeous images to treasure forever.

The shoots include make up and lashes and are a fabulous treat for yourself.   We have a bit of a laugh and it’s all very relaxed.   Doing this one as a combined beauty/bump shoot was really enjoyable and I was thrilled with the resulting images.  I hope you like them as much as I do.

This bump is now a gorgeous little girl and this lovely lady has her hands full.  So I hope these are a wonderful reminder of the pregnancy.

If you’d like a beauty shoot please get in touch on   You don’t have to be pregnant – infact if you aren’t, you get the added bonus of a glass of fizz to make the experience even more of a treat !

Bump and Newborn Shoot Northampton

Bump and Newborn Shoot Northampton

I do lots of newborn shoots but don’t often do bump shoots, so it’s an extra treat for me having done a lovely bump shoot to then return and meet the baby.

The maternity shoot took place at the couples home in Northampton, with images both indoors and in the garden – my shoots always take place in your own home as this is more personal to the couple and produces nice, natural results.

Newborn shoots again are done at home so you can change the and feed the baby in your own environment and again it makes for a nice relaxed shoot.  This beautiful little girl was particularly chilled out.  She decided to arrive a bit early, but despite that, she was really alert and able to hold her head up really well.   She was a natural little model and gave me lots of opportunity to get a variety of different shots.

Some photographers only shoot images of the baby but I like to capture the whole family in a lifestyle type shoot – showing the relationship between all the members of the family.  I hope you enjoy this selection from this lovely shoot in Northampton.

I’ve been keeping pretty busy with lots of gorgeous newborns recently and so I haven’t been blogging much of late.  I was just saying the other day that Spring is a popular time for newborns and someone pointed out that there are no seasons for babies and they are not the same as sheep !  Thanks to that person – I was just so confused between the two …. only kidding !

This was a lovely session I did recently for a gorgeous little newborn boy – he was such a superstar to work with, a natural model and just absolutely beautiful little guy.

There were so many images to choose from as we did shots of all the family as well as the little boy himself.  I love to capture the joy of a new family and the love of new parents towards this wonderful little miracle in their lives.

He had the most gorgeous, beautifully decorated nursery as well so it was lovely to get some shots in there.

My newborn shoots are ideally done in the first two weeks, as this coincides with paternity leave.  The babies are more sleepy at this stage and it’s easier to get the best shots.

If you are expecting a baby, contact me as soon as possible and we can book you in and pencil in a due date. When the baby has arrived safely and you know when you will be home we can fix a specific date.

I hope you enjoy this small selection of images from this lovely shoot.
