Newborn baby portraits at home ~ Olney

I take newborn baby portraits in your own home.

This can be a very relaxing way of getting images of your new baby in those first precious days when they are so small.  Newborn portraits are best taken within the first 2 weeks as the baby is still small enough to curl up.  Babies this young also still very sleepy and some poses can only be achieved when the baby is in a deep sleep.  Newborn babies are only tiny for a very short time so getting these baby portraits early is really very special.  Life gets hectic once the baby arrives and time can pass very quickly so its best to book in when you are pregnant and we can adjust the shoot day accordingly.

Photographing families and babies is one of my favourite bits of this job – seeing the family welcome their new addition is just wonderful and I usually get to have a bit of a baby cuddle which is a great bonus and something I love !

I can take newborn baby portraits in your home or I shortly hope to have a newborn baby studio for you to visit.  Either option will result in really special images for you to treasure of your new baby.

I particularly enjoyed this session as the mum and dad are a former bride and groom of mine from the old days when my business was mostly wedding photography.  I love catching up with old clients and seeing how they are, I also photographed their older daughter as a newborn and her images are still among my favourite newborn images ever and can be seen in my newborn gallery ….. however she is a bigger now … bit of a cheeky monkey and totally gorgeous !!

Newborn Photographer Leighton Buzzard

I’m a Newborn Photographer based near Leighton Buzzard.  I take beautiful artistic images of newborn babies ideally in the first two weeks after they are born.  Newborn sessions are best at this time as the babies will curl up and sleep.  I like to get a mixture of images of the whole family together but spend a lot of time just photographing the baby.  As a Newborn Photographer I make sure I have plenty of time for my sessions, newborn sessions can take around 4 hours – I allow lots of time to photograph the baby in different poses and outfits if appropriate and there is lots of time for feeds, time to change the baby and try different poses.   This is always done with the safety of the baby as the main priority.

This session took place when the baby was around 10 days old.  This is an ideal age as the baby is still tiny and sleep but the parents are getting used to the daily routine.  The parents of this lovely little boy were a former Bride and Groom of mine so it was lovely to catch up with them when I went to meet their new baby.

The little one was asleep when I arrived so we started with some of the sleepy curled up shots and then got some of him with his eyes open later in the portrait session.

I hope you enjoy this Newborn Portrait Session in Leighton Buzzard – below are a few of my favourite images from the shoot.

Newborn Photographer Northampton ~ Competition Winners

I recently ran a competition to raise money for Cancer Research and the winner received a portrait session worth £400.  I was particularly pleased when the session was won by a couple with a brand new baby.   The whole reason for the competition was to offer continued support to the attempts to find a cure for cancer and was done in memory of a mother who lost her battle with this disease.  For the winning session to feature the start of a new life seems in a way somewhat fitting.

Thank you to everyone who kindly donated to this great cause.   I’m only sorry that you could not all be winners.

During this session, we were able to get a lovely mixture of sleepy shots, sleepy smiling shots, wide awake shots and shots with Mum and Dad – all in all a lovely varied selection for the family to treasure.  I hope you will enjoy these few images from this recent newborn baby portrait session in Northampton.

I particularly love this one of Mum and Dad looking so proud of their beautiful new baby girl

Bump and Baby Photographer Watford Hertfordshire

I’m a newborn baby, family and child portrait photographer based in Northamptonshire but I also cover Hertfordshire where I was previously based.  Many of my past clients in Watford, Rickmansworth, Chorleywood and St Albans return for sessions year after year as their children grow.

I expect you remember this gorgeous maternity shoot combined with family shoot back in November in the Autumn leaves – Gorgeous Mum and 2 nutty little girls.  The newborn baby – girl number 3 – arrived just in time for Christmas and I was lucky enough to get some pictures on the day after she was born as well as when she was just a week old.  The wide awake shots were Day 1 – she was so alert and just wanted to feed and stay awake. By day 7 she was bit more settled and sleepy – but it enabled a lovely range of sleepy shots and more open-eyed shots.   You will see from the last shot that Mum and Dad were pretty determined during the pregnancy that there would be no more babies, but …..  looking at their faces, admiring their latest beautiful daughter I’m not 100% convinced it really is the last one !   Hope you enjoy this newborn baby shoot in Watford.

Newborn Baby Photography, Northamptonshire & Leicestershire

Photographing newborn babies is one of my favourite things about being a family portrait photographer in Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.   I also often do portrait photography in Leicestershire and this session took place a couple of months ago in Loughborough.   Lots of my new sessions are being kept secret for Christmas presents so I’m blogging a mixture of shoots at the moment.

This little chap was 10 days old when I took the first set of pictures and he slept like a dream – so much so that there were no shots of him awake.  There was a slight problem which resulted in me returning a week later and we got some fabulous shots of him awake on round two.  The double session actually meant there was a lovely range to choose from.  We took newborn images both inside and outside and unlike some newborn photographers who only photograph the baby I always like to include the whole family – after all – the parents are the whole reason the baby is here.  I had lots of favourites from this session but here are a few.
